Peter Joseph Burgess

Peter Joseph Burgess, 61, of Mankato, died at home on Monday, December 18, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Mankato Mortuary. Memorial service will be 11am, Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Peter was born March 11, 1956 in Mankato to John and Constance (Prochaska) Burgess. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Mankato High School in 1974. Peter studied Electronic Engineering at South Central Technical College. On September 17, 1983, he was united in marriage to Nancy Neubert at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Nancy and Peter were blessed with two children, Jack and Keegan.

Peter worked for Zahl Equipment in Mankato until 2003. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering in the garage. Above all, Peter cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nancy Burgess of Mankato; son, Jack (Brittany) Burgess of Mankato; daughter, Keegan Burgess of Mankato; grandsons, Peter Joseph “PJ” Burgess and Jackson Burgess; sister, Kim (Tim Cain) Hoffrogge of Mankato; brother, Jeff (Donna) Burgess of North Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents.
