William “Bill” Kaehlert, of Brooklyn Park, died on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Belgrade Swedish Lutheran Cemetery.
William was born on November 7, 1947 in Joliet, IL to Robert and Marjorie (Gierich) Kaehlert. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam in the 823rd Civil Engineering Red Horse. Bill graduated with an accounting degree from San Bernadino Community College and worked for 23 years with the Army National Defense Finance Center in California. Bill lived in Denver and was united in marriage to Kollett Carlson in 2004. They then moved to Brooklyn Park. He then worked for Nash Fench in Edina before retirement. Bill was a member of the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post #172 and the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kollett; children, Shelly Stephanie and special friend, Rick Hendley, Stephanie (Terry) Galle, and Martin (Amanda) Carlson; grandchildren, Johnathan Corgard, Izabel Stephanie, Patrick, Cory, and Grace Galle, Eli, Devrie, and Kenneth Carlson; sister-in-law, Adele Bridge; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Bridge.
