Margie passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 in the ICU at MCHS, Mankato.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. prior to the service at Northview.
Marjorie (Margie) Marie (Osborne) Winch was born on April 17, 1937 in Madelia, MN, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (McMullen) Osborne. She attended school in Madelia, MN, graduating from Madelia High School in 1956.
On February 9, 1957 she married William (Bill) Harold Winch in Madelia, MN. They lived in Mankato and were blessed with three children, Roxann, Wanda, and John.
Margie worked at the Junction Inn and the Happy Chef restaurants before retiring. She then worked at Sam’s Club in Mankato for a time doing demos and enjoyed seeing old friends and making new friends.
She cherished time spent with her close circle of family and friends as her health declined. She also enjoyed gardening, country music, and playing games with family and friends. She and her husband Bill were also life-long members of the Kato Cycle Club and in their past her family spent many weekends with friends at the club. She and Bill also took many motorcycle tours across the United States. Among her favorite memories are the trips to Branson, MO with her mother, sisters and niece.
Survivors include her daughters, Roxann Winch of Des Moines, Iowa, Wanda Winch of Mankato, and son, John Winch (Heidi McLennan) of Mankato; granddaughter, Nicole Winch, and grandsons, Marcus Winch and Garret Winch, all of Mankato; two sisters, Karen Paulson of Madison Lake and Kay Hippert of Glenwood; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daryle (Butch) Peyman, Kenny and Val Winch, Marlin and Anna (Winch) Miller, Gary Winch; nieces and nephews; and friends Duane (Swede) Paulson and family of St. James.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Winch; parents, Raymond and Mary (McMullen) Osborne; in-law, Earl Winch; four sisters, Claire Klaras, Eileen Keenan, Marilyn Frederickson, and Vivian Peyman; two brothers, Eugene and William Osborne; seven brothers-in-law and three nephews.
