John H. Rush, age 86 of Mankato, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday December 9, 2017 at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in North Mankato. Burial will be at Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. service at the church. Memorials may be given to Mayo Clinic Hospice or his church.

John was born October 18, 1931 to Howard and Grace (Rients) Rush in Lakefield, Minnesota. John graduated from Mankato High School in 1949. He was united in marriage to Patsy Miller on July 24, 1954 in Mankato. John was employed for 46 years at Continental Can in Mankato before he retired.

John was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd Lutheran and American Legion Post 11 in Mankato.

John is survived by his wife Patsy of Mankato; two sons, Randy (Deborah) Rush of Melbourne, FL, Jay Rush of North Mankato; two grandchildren, Kalen Rush and Evan Rush.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon.
