Sara Ray Meyers
Sara Ray Meyers, age 90, of St. Peter, Minnesota and formerly Ankeny, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Pathstone Living in Mankato, Minnesota.
Memorial service will take place on Friday, December 8 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary at 11:30 a.m. with a one hour visitation prior. A reception will be held following the service. Private family interment will take place at Ankeny Memorial Cemetery.
Sara was born on September 16, 1927 to George and Naomi (Davis) Ray in Marysville, Kansas. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1945. Sara married Robert A. Meyers on December 26, 1950 in Marysville. She worked as a social worker in Iowa for many years. Sara enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and reading books. Her family will always remember her for putting others first and her witty sense of humor.
Sara is survived by her children, Michael “Mike” (Carrie) of Bardstown, Kentucky, Timothy “Tim” (Theresa) of Center Point, Iowa, and Andrew “Andy” (Debbie) of Cleveland, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kim, Travis, Brenda, Beth, Aaron, Kristen, Jason, and Jessica; and 9 great-grandchildren. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Meyers.
