Robert Joseph Curran passed away on November 20, 2017 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato, MN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with visitation starting at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Lowe Syndrome Association, Parkinson's Education Group, or Holy Rosary Church. Robert “Bob” was born on November 9, 1932 in Faribault, MN to Robert F. and Ellen L. (McGrath) Curran. He attended All Saints School in Madison Lake, Loyola High School where he graduated in 1951, and Mankato Teachers College. Bob served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas from 1953 to 1955. Following his time in the U.S. Army, Bob was employed by the Continental Can Company where he worked for 37 years. In 1959, Bob married Loretta M. Bisch from Cleveland, MN. He and Loretta raised five children. Bob enjoyed spending time working on the family farm near Madison Lake, MN. For many years, Bob was an active member of the International Association of Machinists, Nicollet County DFL, and the Lowe Syndrome Association.
Robert is survived by his children, Michael R. Curran of St. Peter, MaryKay (Craig) Lanoue of Bloomington, and John A. Curran of Madison Lake; grandsons, Joseph Curran, Christopher Lanoue, John Lanoue, Daniel Lanoue, Jacob Curran and Caleb Curran. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; and sons, Andrew and James.
