Imogene “Kitzi” Mary Zimmerman, 82 of Mankato, died Monday, November 13, 2017 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation starting at 9:30am. Burial  at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to BENCHS. Please share a memory of Kitzi with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Kitzi was born December 21, 1934 in Mankato to Elmo and Ruth (Dentinger) Briar. She married Robert Zimmerman on December 26, 1953 in Mankato and they were blessed with three sons, Michael, Thomas, and Steven. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, Kitzi enjoyed baking, shoe shopping, and spending time with family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Michelle “Shelly”) Zimmerman of Mapleton, Thomas (Gloria) Zimmerman of North Mankato, and Steven Zimmerman of Mankato; grandchildren, James Zimmerman, Todd Zimmerman, Kevin Zimmerman, Julie (Shawn) Morgan, Joshua (Paige Hoehn) Zimmerman, and Christopher (Ashley Elfers) Zimmerman; six great-grandchildren; and special four-legged friend, Mable.

Kitzi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2004; and brother, Elmo Briar.
