John Mansson

John Allen Mansson, 73 of Conway, South Carolina and formerly of Mankato, passed away November 10, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Northview and one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

John was born May 29, 1944 to Johan and Marjorie (Herzberg) Mansson in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1962. On August 16, 1969, he married Katherine Maus in Mankato. Together they had one daughter, Victoria. John served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and worked for Chicago and NorthWestern Railroad for many years. John went on to work for North Star Concrete in Mankato, Glen-Gery Brick Company in Ottawa, Illinois and most recently retired in Conway, South Carolina.

In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, telling funny stories, spending time with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. John will be greatly missed by many.

John is survived by his daughter, Victoria (Chris) Hart of Mankato; grandchildren, Carson and London; brothers, LeRoy (Patricia) Mansson and Robert (Vicky) Mansson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine in 1979; and his parents.
