Jerry Charles Salfer, age 67, of rural Lake Crystal, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his home.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Monday.
Jerry was born December 2, 1949 to Roy and Sadie (Hanson) Salfer in Mankato. He was united in marriage to Jane A. Hoffman on February 15, 1974 in Mankato. Jerry worked with his father and two brothers in construction for many years. He was later a union carpenter and ended his career at Carlstrom Construction. Jerry was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, hunting, farming, gardening, golf cart rides, and summertime at the cabin.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jane; six children, Jim (Tessa) Enter of North Mankato, Scott (Tiffany) Riesgraf, Mark (Holly) Enter all of Mankato, Shari (Brad) Noeldner of Cologne, Julie (Bill) Mason of Kasota, and Jerry Jr. “Fritz” (Stacy) Salfer of North Mankato; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Donna) Salfer of Brainerd; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gloria (Jim) Matteson, Nancy (Bill) Anderson all of Mankato, Chuck Hoffman of North Mankato, Julie (Larry) Holtz of St. Clair, and Debbie Miller of North Mankato; nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Salfer; parents-in-law, Herb and Eleanor Hoffman; brother-in-law, Herb Hoffman, Jr; and beloved pet, Maddie.
