Robert A. Decker, age 93 of Mankato died Sunday October, 15, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m., until 2:00 p.m., Friday October 20, 2017 at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Robert A. Decker was born July 25, 1924 to Benjamin and Anna (Klein) Decker in Janesville, Minnesota. He graduated from Janesville High School. Bob served his country during World War II in the European Theater. Bob was united in marriage to Dolores Hoffman on September 23, 1947 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Bob worked at Mankato Iron and Metal for over 50 years and worked until he was 79 years old. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed fishing, playing games, deer hunting and horseshoes.

Bob is survived by his six children, Robert (Nora) Decker Jr., Carol Johns, Lynette (Dave) Chute, Allan (Barb) Decker, Sheila Johns, and Margene (Henry) Sistrunk; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn McMurlyn; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife Dolores in 2001; daughter, Sandra Gilbertson; four grandsons and five brothers.
