Rodney S. Brockmeyer age 89 of Mankato died Wednesday October 11, 2017 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2017 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato. Visitation one hour before the service at Northview on Friday. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospice.

Rodney S. Brockmeyer was born June 9, 1928 to Herbert and Olive (Schwefel) Brockmeyer in Mankato. Rod graduated from Mankato High School. Rod and then served his county in the US Army from 1946 until 1948. He graduated from vocational school in Mankato as a trained Machinist. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Birr on July 27, 1957 in Kasota, MN. Rod owned and operated Brockmeyer Vending.

Rod was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and clocks.

Rod is survived by two sons, Brad (Elvira) Brockmeyer of San Diego, Ca, and Larry Brockmeyer of Mankato, MN; two grandchildren, Kelly and Alan Brockmeyer; sister, Barbara Lee of Lake Crystal; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, and wife Dorothy in 2002.
