Candy K. McCabe

Candy Katherine McCabe, age 63, of Mankato died Monday, October 2, 2017, at Water's Edge Assisted Living Facility.

Services will be held at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017. Visitation will be held a half hour before services at the gathering area.  Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery following services.  Everyone is invited back to the church cafeteria for coffee & cookies following services.

Candy was born on July 9, 1954, to Eugene and Lois Herman.  She graduated from Mankato West High School in 1972.  She was united in marriage with David McCabe in 1978.  They had one son, Shane.  They later divorced.  Candy worked many years for the Mankato Citizen Telephone Company as a phone operator.  Candy enjoyed watching TV, shopping, clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry and everything "girly."

She is survived by her son, Shane McCabe; brother, Kim Herman; sister, Lisa Mead; and granddaughter, Elyse McCabe, all of Mankato; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Candy fought the good fight, but she is now with her mom and dad in heaven. We love you Candy, and we will miss you terribly. Rest in peace.
