Lowell “Louie” William Thorson, 64, of Lake Crystal, Minnesota died Tuesday, September, 19, 2017 at the place he loved, his Wisconsin cabin.

A memorial service will be Sunday, September 24 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary at 4 p.m. with a two hour visitation prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice or the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association.

Louie was born August 15, 1953 in Mankato to Raymond and Kathryn (Mutch) Thorson. He graduated in 1971 from Wellcome Memorial High School in Garden City. Louie started Thorson Tree Service in 1973 and ran his own business for many years. Louie loved hunting- especially bear hunting and he was an active member of the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association. He enjoyed fishing, his dogs, spending time with his grandchildren, and he especially liked to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Louie is survived by his children, Alisha (Travis) Jordan, Sarah (Ben) Havens, Marissa Thorson (Daren Macrafic); grandchildren, Tasia, Jaci, Cody, and Katelyn; brothers, Myron (Kandy) and Ken (Lisa); his special Wisconsin bear hunting family and his dogs; and many other special family friends. Louie was preceded in death by his parents.
