Jack E. Keech, age 83, of Madelia, died on Friday, September 15, 2017 at his home.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Madelia. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Private family burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.
Jack was born on April 23, 1934 in Madelia to Milo and Lois (Hills) Keech. He graduated from the Madelia High School. Jack served in the United States Army in Korea from 1953-1955. On June 12, 1955, Jack was united in marriage to Jean Miller in Lake Crystal. Jack was a licensed barber and owned and operated Jack’s Countryside Barber Shop. Jack was a Watonwan County Sheriff for 8 years and a Watonwan County Deputy Sheriff for 16 years. He was a lifetime member of the Korean War Veterans Association, lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW, lifetime member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers, and a member of the masonic order. Jack was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Madelia and was actively involved.
Jack is survived by his son, Mike of Winnebago; son-in-law, Terry Bergeman of Madelia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Duane of Coon Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; daughter, Julie Bergeman; and sister, Jeanette Fraze.
