Ronald Brown

Ronald Edward Brown, 69 of Nora Springs, Iowa and formerly of Mankato, passed away September 12, 2017 at his home.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 North Riverfront Drive, in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Ron was born February 10, 1948 to Vernon and Teresa (Bohnert) Brown in Mankato. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1966.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 serving in Nevada and Turkey. While in the Air Force, he married Mary Campbell on November 27, 1968. Together they raised two children, Wendy and Bryan. Ron also received a Bachelor’s Degree from Mankato State University in 1981. In his free time, Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Ron is survived by his children, Wendy (Byron) Kieser of St. Paul and Bryan (Alisha) Brown of Tonopah, Nevada; grandchildren, William, Joseph, Anthony, Jonathan, Aaron, Kathryn, Truet, and Hayden; siblings, Steve (Loree) Brown, David “Nick” (Monika) Brown, Barb (Barry Schnitzer) Hinrichs, Dennis Brown, Doug (Beth) Brown, and Tom (Jody) Brown; sister-in-law, Cathy Brown; brother-in-law, Leon Wenner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; sister, Irene Wenner; and brother, Ed Brown.
