Laverne Reichel age 91 of North Mankato, died Sunday evening surrounded by her family at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

Laverne Reichel was born June 29, 1926 to Ben and Anna (Weber) Wild in Mankato. She graduated from Good Council Academy in Mankato. Laverne was united in marriage to Curtis “Growler” Reichel on June 4, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. She was a homemaker for her family and later worked at Carlson Craft.

Laverne was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed cards, travel puzzles, time at the lake and fishing. Most she enjoyed of all spending time with her family.

Laverne is survived by her eight children, Mark (Mary) Reichel, Brad (Sandy) Reichel, Gary (Cherryl) Reichel, Dann “Boom” (Eileen) Reichel, Rita (Brian) Amundson, Todd (Lorna) Reichel, Jane (Ron Haefner) Carlson, and Mona (Wade Seadlund) Wacholz; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Curtis “Growler” Reichel, infant son, Roy, two grandsons, Christopher Reichel and Dan Reichel.
