Marlyn Jean Goede was born to Norman and Clara (Domjahn) Goede on October 18, 1936 in Crow Wing County, Crosby, Minnesota. Her parents brought her to the Lord Jesus through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on November 26, 1936 at the Immanuel of Iron Hub Lutheran Church in Aitkin, Minnesota by Rev. H. Marth. Marlyn attended public school in Waconia, Minnesota, St. Peter Lutheran Parochial School in rural Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and Lester Prairie High School. She renewed her baptismal vows at her confirmation on May 28, 1950 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the presiding pastor, Rev. Wm. L. Erb. Marlyn and her parents resided in Deerwood, Minnesota until 1941 when they moved to Waconia. In 1943 they moved to a farm in Lester Prairie. Marlyn moved to Mankato in the 1970’s. Marlyn subsequently moved to the Janesville Nursing Home in Janesville, Minnesota following hip surgery and she was a long-time resident. Marlyn was always interested in art, painting, and drawing. She also enjoyed music and loved to sing and play piano.

Marlyn entered eternal rest on August 27, 2017 at the Janesville Nursing Home. God permitted her, in His grace and mercy to reach the age of 80. Marlyn converted to Catholicism and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is pending. Marlyn is survived by her sister, Virginia Jerabek of Lester Prairie and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
