Helen Hansen

Helen Adell Hansen, 90, of North Mankato, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017,  at her home.

The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on August 13, 2017, at Oak Terrace Independent Living facility, 1570 Tower Boulevard, North Mankato, in the Community Room. Burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family.

Helen was born May 1, 1927, to Henry and Agnes (Lea) Branby in Glenwood, MN. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Arthur Hansen on June 18, 1949, in Glenwood. Together, they raised two children, Jeanne and Jim. In 1967, they moved to Fairmont, MN.  Helen retired as an office administrator from Cloverleaf Cold Storage in 1984. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Interlaken Golf Club in Fairmont. In her free time, Helen enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, spending time with family and socializing with friends. Helen will be remembered as a caring, fun-loving and family-centered person who loved to laugh.

Helen is survived by her children, Jeanne (Mike) Bower of St. Cloud and Jim (Michelle) Hansen of North Mankato; grandchildren, Stacy (Matt) Busch, Tim (Michelle) Bower, Stephanie (Chad) Miller, Ben (Margot) Hansen, Matt (Amanda) Hansen, Blaise (Carrie) Schultz, and Brittany Schultz; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hansen, Brady Busch, Caden Hansen, Jordan Busch, Gavin Hansen, Nicholas Hansen, Nico Bower, and Aubrey Schultz; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, LaVerne (King) Bogie; brother, Richard (Wanda) Branby; and sister-in-law, Arvilla Hansen.
