Sherry Lee Ayers

Sherry Lee Ayers, 61 of Mankato, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at her home.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Dr., in Mankato.

Sherry was born, October 17, 1955 to William and Ettamae (Rivers) Griffin in Chicago, Illinois. She attended South Shore High School in Chicago. On March 30, 1986 she married Wayne Ayers. Sherry was a member of Holy Christian Church in Mankato. In her free time, Sherry enjoyed cooking, watching crime shows, taking pictures, spending time with family, and especially caring for her grandchildren. She was known to be a loving, caring, compassionate, and a super woman who will be greatly missed by many.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Wayne of 31 years; children, Shawntay (Lionel) Green, Valerie (Cornelius Mack) Hines, Courtney Ayers, Dewayne Ayers, and Wayne Ayers, Jr; grandchildren, Destiny (Dana), James (Macy), Shawntay (Monteray), DyReyell, Cashamona, and nine additional grandchildren in the family; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Griffin; nephew , Ralph Griffin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
