Verona S. Urban

Verona S. Urban, age 85 of Lake Crystal, died on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Oaklawn Health Care Center. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview- North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners. 

Verona was born on March 22, 1932 in rural Vernon Center to Frederick and Sena (Stolzmann) Kopischke.  She attended school in Willow Creek where she spent her childhood.  On June 20, 1954, Verona was united in marriage to Delphin Urban at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Willow Creek. She enjoyed fishing and embroidering.  She helped Dephin with his woodworking by taking care of the painting.  Verona loved spending time with family. 

Verona is survived by her daughter, Susan Covey of Orr, MN; son, James (Gina) Urban of Lake Crystal; grandchildren, Scott (Lanie) Covey of Mapleton, Kaytlin Urban of Mankato, and Justin Urban of Lake Crystal; great-grandchildren, J.D. and Maci Covey of Mapleton; sister, Norma (Jerry) Kelley of Anoka; brother, Gordon (Dorothy) Kopischke of Vernon Center; sisters-in-law, Donna Kopischke, Olivia Kopischke, and Helena Kopischke.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delphin in 2016; sisters, Mabel Nibbe and Alta Bergemann; brothers, Clarence, Harold, Elmer, and Earl.
