Edward "Ed" Legg

Edward “Ed” Legg, age 84, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Laurel’s Peak in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m Friday, at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery.

Ed was born July 22, 1932, to Harold and Lucille (Johnson) Legg in rural Lake Crystal. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1950. Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy for 6 years stationed in North Africa. Ed was united in marriage to Marie Wray on May 10, 1954, at Heron Lake, MN. Ed worked for Sears Service for 27 years and farmed from 1960-1996. He was a member of the John Roth American Legion Post 294 of Lake Crystal and its Honor Guard. He enjoyed working in his shop, deer hunting, and attending VC-7 Navy squad reunions.

Ed is survived by his wife, Marie; four children, Nancy Legg, Linda (John) Othoudt, Lisa (Glenn) Bible, and Eric (Annie) Legg all of Lake Crystal; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian; grandson, Josh Bible; and sister, Helen Lease.
