Bonnie Kay (Miller) Bright, age 71, of North Mankato, Minnesota, died at her home July 17, 2017 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. 

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, at Crossview Covenant Church.  Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday July 28th at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Mayo Clinic Mankato Oncology.

She was born on August 21, 1945, in Montevideo, Minnesota to Neil and Vivian (Schwartz) Miller.  She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1963 and went on to receive her RN degree from the Northwestern School of Nursing in Minneapolis.  She worked at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital for 33 years, much of that time in the Labor and Delivery/OB unit until her retirement in 2012. 

Bonnie married high school sweetheart, Robert Bright at the Congregational Church in Montevideo, on August 27, 1966.  Bonnie and Bob celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016 with family and friends. 

She was a long time member of Crossview Covenant Church (formally Evangelical Covenant Church) and relished life.  She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing bridge, dominos, reading, golfing, going to the lake, going to the theater, and spending time with friends and family.  No social stone was left unturned.

Bonnie is survived by her husband; her daughter, Natalie (Brian) Hoppe of North Mankato; Nathan (Sophia) Bright of St.  Peters, Missouri, and Andy (Jeana) Bright of Delano; five grandchildren, Tyler and Brianna Hoppe, Vanik Bright, and Presley and Peyton Bright; brother, Terry (Trudy) Miller; brother-in-law, Rick (May) Bright; sister-in-law, Kim Olsen; nieces and nephews; and her dog, Jazzman.  She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in-law, Gordon and Gloria Bright; and brother-in-law, Bradley Olsen.
