Maureen Patricia Springer, 70 of Mapleton, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at St. Teresa Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will be at Rice Lake Cemetery in Delavan, Minnesota at a later date. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home of Mapleton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Maureen was born July 9, 1946 to Kenneth and Marie Coxworth in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She graduated from Huntley High School and in 1963 married LeRoy Springer. For many years, Maureen was a daycare provider in Mapleton and later opened Skiddles Preschool and Daycare with partner Dawn Goebel. She retired in 2012. She also enjoyed bartending at local establishments. In her free time, Maureen enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, painting, listening to music, a trip to the casino now and then, caring for her many pets, and especially spending time with her family. Maureen will be remembered for her love of children and caring for them for many years. She was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed by many.
Maureen is survived by her children, Ken Springer, Chuck (Karen) Springer, Christa Springer, and Dusty (Amber) Springer all of Mapleton; grandchildren, Shalane and Kadon Springer, Dustin (Becky) Germo, Brandi (Kyle) Leary, Nick (Lisa Baumgard) Mortenson, Kyera, Briella, and Ava Springer; great-grandchildren, Keeyan, Jayden, and Jayce; brother, John (Julie) Coxworth; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, LeRoy in 2011; and sister, Carol.
