Daniel Wayne Silver, 75 of Mankato, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato following a stroke in April.
 
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.
 
Dan was born November 19, 1941 in Kimball, Nebraska to Edmund and Rozella (Lewandowski) Silver. In his teenage years, Dan’s family relocated to Minnesota. He graduated from Butterfield High School in 1960 and studied at the technical college in Mankato. On January 18, 1964, Dan was united in marriage to Rosemary Peters at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Together, they raised three children, Catherine, Brian, and Michael. Dan was employed at Mankato Citizens Telephone Company and was the manager of the cable T.V. offices in Marshall, MN and Eau Claire, WI before he began a long career in sales and marketing with the Telcomm Division at 3M in 1978. He retired from 3M in 2001. Dan stayed busy in retirement by being the president of the townhouse association where he lived in Mankato. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time at the cabin on Lake Osakis, listening to polka music, traveling to the Balloon Festival in New Mexico, fixing things, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and served in many roles, including the Knights of Columbus as a third degree knight.
 
Dan is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Rosemary Silver of Mankato; daughter, Cathy (Dan) Wunrow of River Falls, WI and her children, Ben (fiancée Ally Sevold), Greta, and Carly; son, Brian Silver of Elk River and his children, Sabrina, Sam, Mackenzie, and Max; son, Michael (Mona) Silver of Albuquerque, NM and his children, Nicholas, Alex, and Colin; siblings, Janyce (Dennis) Hemmingsen, Tom (Lee Ann) Silver, Susan (James) Amburgey, Marcia (Gary) Lips, Marie (Bob) Starr, Beverly (Rob) Merker, Connie (Gary) Crowl, and Paul (Monique) Silver; sisters-in-law, Nancy Silver and Ann Silver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ed Silver and Jim Silver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Loyola School, or the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
