James (Jim) Steven Forsyth, age 69, died on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Mankato Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota.
Jim’s funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 28, at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary at 5 p.m., with a one hour visitation prior to the service, beginning at 4 p.m.
Jim was born on November 6, 1947 to Donald and Marie (Johnson) Forsyth in St. James, Minnesota. He graduated from St. James High School in 1967 and then went to technical school in Minneapolis to earn a degree in drafting. Jim married Patricia (Patti) Peterson on October 30, 1977, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. Jim was a long-time resident of Lake Crystal, Minnesota and member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Jim will always be remembered for his artistic abilities which included his beautiful calligraphy, painting, and photography. Jim loved spending time in nature: he enjoyed canoeing, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He and Patti enjoyed many outdoor activities including gardening, camping, and hiking. Jim was very loving and caring and he always made sure his family knew how important they were to him.
Left to remember Jim are his siblings, Mark (Diane) Forsyth of Rapid City, South Dakota, David (Charlene) Forsyth of St. James, Minnesota, SueAnn (Dale Schuch) Forsyth of Eagan, Minnesota, LuAnn (Bill Jarvis) Forsyth of Madelia, Minnesota, Nancy Forsyth of St. James, Minnesota, and Michael Forsyth of North Mankato, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 28 years, Patti.
