Harris J. Tinklenberg, age 77, of Madelia, died on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Laurel’s Peak.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at NORTHVIEW and will continue one hour prior to the service at Northview. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery.
Harris was born on November 15, 1939 in Woodstock, MN to John and Hermina (Prinsen) Tinklenberg. He graduated from high school in Edgerton, MN. Harris served in the United States Navy from November 1957 – July 1959. On October 8, 1960, Harris was united in marriage to Rose Zwart in Edgerton. Harris was a beekeeper for 34 years and owned and operated Harris Honey Company with Rose. He was a member of the South Central MN Bee Association and the MN State Beekeepers Association. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, the Lions Club, and the Trap Shooting Club in Lake Crystal, Nicollet, and St. James.
Harris is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Scott (Sue) Tinklenberg and Shelley (Lon) Keller; grandchildren, Ryan and Amy Tinklenberg and Joshua and Justin Keller; siblings, Anna Mae (Sid) Berghorst, Joyce Bristow, and Clarence (Sandy) Tinklenberg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd (Carole) Zwart, Wayne (Ellie) Zwart, Dick (June) Zwart, Don (Marlis) Bohner, and Ted (Jeanne) Zwart; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Nellie (Gale) Remme; and brother-in-law, Fred Bristow.
