Roger "Pete" Stierlen

Roger “Pete” Stierlen, 77 of North Mankato, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Healthcare System-Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, in North Mankato and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato with military honors. The family prefers memorials be given to Loyola Catholic School.

Pete was born October 7, 1939 to Al and Marge (Loeffler) Stierlen in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1957. On July 24, 1965 he married Patti Gosch at Holy Rosary. Together they raised four children. Pete served in the US Navy and retired from the US Post Office after 32 years. He belonged to the North Mankato Volunteer Fire Department for 23 years and a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish. Pete’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved to attend and watch all of their activities. Pete will be greatly missed by many.

Pete is survived by his wife, Patti of 52 years; children, Terri (Bob) Taylor, Traci (Rick) Sellner, Tom (Renae) Stierlen, and Trisha (Matt) Sizer; grandchildren, Brady (Samantha), Brett, Bobbi, Shane, Luke, Abbi, Derek, Kaitlyn, and Jake; sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Neubert; and extended family and friends.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Stierlen; and mother and father-in-law, Babe and Alvin Gosch.
