Joyce Lukow

Joyce E. Lukow, 83 of Pemberton, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Medo Lutheran Church in rural Mapleton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Joyce will be laid to rest at Medo Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. The family prefers memorials be given to Pemberton Fire Department or Medo Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joyce was born August 11, 1933 to Frank and Elizabeth (Wessels) Koelder on the family farm in rural Campbell, Nebraska. She attended the Harmony School until the 8th grade and completed her education at Bladen High School in 1951. She married Vance Lukow on April 25, 1954 and later divorced. Together they raised 5 children, Thomas, Marilee, Craig, Lori, and Kimberly. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed traveling, reading, canning and cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was known to be a loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by many.

Joyce is survived by her children, Thomas Lukow; Marilee (Randy) Bluhm, Craig (Jackie) Lukow, Lori Lukow, and Kimberly (Todd) Sonnek; grandchildren,  Molly, Jordan,  Jessica (Dusty), Amy, Adam (Chrissy), Alec (Naomi), Dylan, and Megan (Tony); great-grandchildren, Emma, Caleb, Evelynn, Carter, Henry, Grant, Kai, Lilly, Gabriel, Allie, Jacob, Samuel, and one expected in December; one sister-in-law, Karen Koelder; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma Nelson; brother, Rodney Koelder; brother-in-law, Oliver Nelson; mother and father-in-law, Mollie and Albert Lukow; and special aunt, Emma Wessels.
