Colleen Patricia Howard, 82 of St. Peter, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus.

Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family.

Colleen was born March 17, 1935 to Alan and Mary (O’Brien) Mans in St. Peter. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1953. She received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. On June 1st, 1959 she married Michael Howard at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter, MN. Together they raised two sons, Patrick and Timothy.  Colleen was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and later the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter. In her spare time, Colleen enjoyed gardening, trips to the North Shore and spending time with her family. Colleen was a dear friend, loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Colleen is survived by her sons, Patrick (Diane) Howard of Richfield, Minnesota and Timothy (Renee) Howard of North Las Vegas, Nevada; siblings, Mary Ellen Rauenhorst of Oliva, Minnesota, Jim (Judy) Mans of St. Peter, and Monica Nyblom of St. Peter; beloved grandchildren, Anna and Irelyn; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Michael Howard in 1987; brothers-in-law, Ken Nyblom and Bob Rauenhorst; and sister-in-law, Marcia Howard Walsh.
