Virginia “Ginny” Mae Asleson, age 90, of Madison Lake, died on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Northview- North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Virginia Mae was born on July 27, 1926 in Lake Crystal to William and Elizabeth (Jones) Boyington. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School and Mankato Commercial College. On July 26, 1952, Ginny was united in marriage to Allan Asleson. They lived in Mankato until June 1974, when they moved to their home on Lake Ballantyne. Ginny worked at Minnesota State University, Mankato for 26 years, first starting in the Business Office and later transferring to Human Resources.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Allan; children, David Asleson, Judy (Brian) Anderson, Steven (Patty) Asleson, Gail (Bill) Vagts, Barbara (David) Conrad, Cheryl (Gene) Haefner, and Jane (Rich) Resutek; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Boyington, Dorothy Asleson, Thelma Asleson, and Sharon (Lowell) Kutches; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Boyington; first husband, Jason Chamberlain; mother, Elizabeth Krummel; step-father, Fred Krummel; siblings, Josephine Norman, William Boyington, Robert Boyington, and Richard Boyington; and daughter-in-law, Donna Asleson.
