James E. Hewett

James E. Hewett, 78 of St. Peter, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sand Prairie Assisted Living in St. Peter.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Jim was born February 16, 1939 to Howard and Charlotte (Ledebur) Hewett in Fairmont, MN. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1957. He married Arlene Anderson on February 2, 1962. Together they raised 3 sons, Dale, Dan, and Darren. Jim retired from Hy-Vee after 20 years of employment. He was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church. In his free time, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and all Minnesota sports.

Jim is survived by his wife, Arlene of 55 years; sons, Dale (Cherie) Hewett, Dan (Tonia) Hewett, and Darren (Becky) Hewett; grandchildren, Jake, Colin, Allison, Levi, Kristen, Katie, and Avery; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Hewett Hoehn, Elaine (Joe) Wieskus, Sharon (Darwin) Niss, and Audre Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; Aunt Naomi “Grandma Mo” (Duck) Anderson; parents-in-law, Howard and Grace Anderson; sisters-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine (Lyle) Maschoff, Lois (Wallace) Reineke, Richard (Maryln) Anderson, and Donna Najt.
