Malcolm Clayton Langer, age 80, of Mankato died, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Family interment will be in Ottawa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Malcolm Clayton Langer was born November 17th, 1936 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin to Clayton and Carrol (Huber) Langer. He attended a one room school house in Clayfield, WI. He graduated in 1954 from Ellsworth High School and furthered his schooling at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, graduating in 1958. He began his career at Commercial Credit in Minneapolis and Mankato. After six years, he moved on to National Citizens Bank, which became Northwestern National Bank, then Norwest, and finally Wells Fargo, where he retired in 1998 with 31 dedicated years. While at Commercial Credit, Max met Janice Randall and they married February 16th, 1963. In 1967, Skipton was born, followed by Jameson in 1971, and Janna in 1973. In his spare time, Max enjoyed rooting for all Wisconsin sports teams as well as fishing in Canada and Ten Mile Lake.
Max is survived by his wife, Janice; three children, Skipton (Kelly) Langer of Rochester, Jameson (Michelle) Langer of Waconia, and Janna Langer of Burnsville; six grandchildren, Rylie, Griffin, Evan, J.J., Nathan, and Bethany; sister, Beverly Rasmussen of St. Paul; brother, Leon (Jane) Langer of Ellsworth, WI; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Max was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jerry Rasmussen.
