Dolores Mae Zoelle, age 91, of North Mankato, died Monday, March 27, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
 
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Mankato Mortuary and also one hour prior to the Mass at church on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with Reverend Paul van de Crommert officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.
 
Dolores was born March 4, 1926 in Roscoe, MN to Joseph and Josephine (Wilm) Schmitz. She graduated as valedictorian from Paynesville High School in 1944 and furthered her education at Mankato Commercial College. Dolores worked in St. Cloud as a riveter of airplanes during World War II. Later, she worked as a comptometer operator for Standard Oil in Mankato. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, William, on May 8, 1948 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Dolores’ life was embedded in her deep Catholic faith, which was shown in her kindness, concern for others, and her dedication to saying the rosary on a daily basis, most of her 91 years. She has been a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church since 1948 and was a former president of the CCW. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling, and celebrating holidays with family. Dolores will be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her chocolate ice cream roll and chocolate chip cookies.
 
She is survived by her children, William (Dee Dee) Zoelle of Green Bay, WI, Janice (Stanley) Seys of Waseca, Timothy Zoelle of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph Zoelle of North Mankato, John (Vickie) Zoelle of Burnsville, and Paul Zoelle of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Suzanne Moertl, William (Karen) Zoelle, Melissa (Omid Masihzadeh) Zoelle, Chad Seys (Amanda Crim), Trisha (Paul) Seys Ranola, and Deanna (Erik) Billington; 6 great-grandchildren, Zoe, Ella, Lydia, Arthur, Keegan, and Laila; sisters-in-law, Martha, Julitta, and Rose Marie; and many nieces and nephews.
 
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Zoelle; siblings and in-laws, Mildred (Schmitz) and John Scott, Beatrice (Schmitz) and Anthony Kilian, Clarence Schmitz, Jerome Schmitz, Cyril Schmitz, Gerri (Schmitz) and Steven Stolton.
 
The family would like to thank the staff at Primrose Retirement Community, Mayo Clinic Health System Emergency Room and 2nd Floor staff, and Dr. Wedzina.
