Luella Mae Rose, age 92, of Mankato, passed away on March 27, 2017 at New Perspective Senior Living, Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to Centenary United Methodist Church or New Perspective Senior Living.

Luella was born January 24, 1925 in Mankato to Roy and Ella (Brooks) Davis. After high school, Luella attended Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Robert William Rose on August 25, 1945 in Mankato. They made their home in Mankato and raised three children: John, James, and Ron. Luella worked as a secretary at Mankato Commercial College for 2 years, followed by several years of employment at Blue Earth County Probate Court, and 19 years in the Registrar’s Office at MSU. After retiring, Luella and her husband, Robert, wintered in Texas for 14 years.

Luella was a lifetime member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was active with many church groups, taught Sunday school, and served as circle chairman. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Luella is survived by her husband, Robert Rose of Mankato; three sons and their wives, John (Maureen) Rose of Omaha, Nebraska, James (Pranee) Rose of Shakopee, Ron (Rosie) Rose of Eagle Lake; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and her husband, Arlene (Rev. James) Towler of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Cheri.
