Margaret Delores Walsvick, age 93, of Mankato, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Mike Omtvedt officiating.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Margaret was born February 24, 1924, in Cottonwood County to Albert and Ida (Enstad) Warner.  She was a graduate of Mankato High School.  Margaret was united in marriage to John Walsvick on June 5, 1954, in Mankato.  She was employed as a telephone operator, retiring in the mid-1980’s from Mankato Citizens Telephone Company.  Margaret was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing Bridge, reading, traveling with John, participating in activities at Oaklawn, listening to her granddaughter, Katie play piano and great-grandson, Alex play violin, and especially spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Susan Weingartz of Mankato; son, Mark (Catalina) Walsvick of Whittier, CA; four granddaughters, Katie (Casey) Boone, Kelli (A.J.) Praxl, Christine Walsvick, and Jocelyn Walsvick; three great-grandsons, Alex, Desmond, and Tanner; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 2001; four brothers; three sisters; and two sons-in-law, Mark DePew and Jerry Weingartz.

Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Oaklawn Health Care Center for taking such wonderful care of her.
