Cheryl Rae (Drummer) Hammock

Cheryl Hammock of Shakopee, MN gained eternal peace and happiness on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was born on June 27, 1960 to Ray and LaVaughn (Dusell) Drummer. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy, graduating in 1978.

Cheryl was employed at Mueller's Superway and Computo Service of Mankato. She then moved to Minneapolis and was employed with Piper Jaffrey & Hopwood Investments. She was a former Associate at Amazon Fulfillment Center MSP1. She studied Medical Assistant/Nursing at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business and was most recently employed as a Licensed Certified Medical Assistant at Health Partners.

Cheryl married Clifton Hammock on March 23, 1990 in Minneapolis and together they had one son, Jonathan. Cheryl was a devoted mother. She had a special smile and laugh and a mischievous nature about her. She was very generous. She enjoyed spending time with family and traveling whenever possible. She loved to garden and was a very good cook. Cheryl is missed greatly by her family, although we still feel her spirit with us.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Clif, Shakopee; son, Jon, Shakopee; mother, LaVaughn Drummer, Mankato; siblings, Sandi Drummer, Prior Lake, Steve (Teresa) Drummer, Kasota, Rick (Carol) Drummer, Mankato, Sue (Ron) Vork, Cloquet, Cynthia Drummer, Prior Lake, Sheila (Dave) Lindblom, Cleveland, Randy (Jackie) Drummer, Savage, Lori Jones, St. Peter, Robert (Cheryl) Drummer, Webster; sister-in-law, Nevada (Ron) Brown, Kansas City, MO; brothers-in-law, Gregory Longmyer, Jasper Hammock, and Raymond Garrison, all of Kansas City, MO; step-children, Yvette (Richard) Peterson, Ayasha (Steve) Buchanan, and Alim Hammock; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
 
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; infant sister, Mary; infant niece, Brianna Drummer; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary (Tachney) Drummer; maternal grandparents, George and Mary (Yaeger) Dusell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A prayer service with Reverend Paul van de Crommert will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56003 with a gathering and time to share memories of Cheryl following the service.
