Jerald “Jerry” O. Hiller, 84, of Mankato, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells, Minnesota in the spring.

Jerald was born May 22, 1932 in Mankato to Oscar and Muriel (Bunde) Hiller. He grew up in Good Thunder, Minnesota and was married to Kathleen Carlson on August 30, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1953, and went on to fulfill his passion of building a dairy herd and grain farm located in Wells, Minnesota for the majority of his working life. He later enjoyed living on the lake in Waterville, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen; parents; and son-in-law Lonny Possin.

He will be dearly missed by his children Julie (Ken) Schrader, Linda Possin, and Timothy (Dawn) Hiller; 7 grandchildren Brendon (Carrie) and David (Justine) Schrader, Layne (Jill), Jason (Sheena), and Stacy Possin, Kathleen (Dan) Norsten and Eric Hiller; 13 great-grandchildren Aidan, Owen, Elsa and Annaliese Schrader, Brian, Samantha, Justin, Logan, Bella, Jace, Jayden, Carly and Jemma Possin; brother Royce (Donna) Hiller; sisters-in-law JoAnn (Ray) Kastner and Helen (Fred) Doering.
