Robert A. Brage

Robert “Bob” Allan Brage passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at his home in Mankato, Minnesota after giving his all in a battle with cancer.

A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday the 3rd of March, 2017, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1706 Lee Blvd, North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna. Memorials are preferred.

Bob was born in Owatonna, Minnesota May 14, 1957 to Clarence and Charlene (Headline) Brage. Bob graduated from Owatonna High School in June of 1975 and graduated from Minneapolis School of Barbers in 1979.

Bob had many passions in his life. He was an avid and often victorious motocross rider, hockey enthusiast, and music lover. He lived each and every day full throttle; seizing the gifts that life offered him. He loved spending time outside and taking in the scenery around him, and he loved sharing these moments with his family and friends.

Bob enjoyed working with people and his work ethic and nonstop energy was a fantastic influence for everyone he knew. He forged a connection with anyone he met, always ready with a story to tell or a sympathetic ear to lend. His impact in his community was significant and widespread, ensuring that his legacy will continue to flourish in years to come.

Bob did not lose his battle with cancer. His sacrifice was great, and his family will grieve for a long time in his absence, but he never gave up. He lived every day with courage, finding unfathomable levels of strength to rise to the impossible challenge he faced. His strength, love and his spirit live on in those who survive him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Deb (Hines) Brage; daughters, Erin Brage and fiancé, Ethan Passon and Alyssa Brage all of Mankato; bonus children, Damian Butzer, Mark (Laura Kubick) Butzer all of Minneapolis, Michael Butzer, Anna Butzer both of Mankato; grandchildren, Wyatt and Tayte Passon; mother, Charlene Brage of Owatonna; brothers, Tom (Kathy) Brage of Owatonna and Mike (Donna) Brage of Prior Lake; nieces and nephews, Alex Brage, Tyler Brage, Nathan (Molly) Brage, and Vanessa Brage, extended family, and his little dog, Schatzie.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Clarence in November 2016; mother-in-law Norma Hines in February 2013 and father-in-law Jim Hines in December 2016.
