Eunice “Uni” A. Tiede, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2017 at Pathstone Living Center, Mankato.  Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 with visitation one hour prior at Christ the King Lutheran Church, with Rev. Trish Reedstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester, MN. Memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church or Pathstone Living Center.

Eunice A. Tiede was born July 30, 1926 to Edward and Alma Hoganson-Evenson of Rockdell Township, Olmsted County, MN. After her schooling she moved to Rochester, MN where she met and married Clayton Tiede in 1948. The following year she left her employment at Mayo Clinic and moved to Minneapolis, MN, where her husband attended the University of Minnesota. In 1954, she and her family moved to Goodhue, MN, and then after two years, to Rochester. During her time in Rochester she was active with the area Girl Scouts, The Community Music Club, and the Public School PTA. Upon moving to Mankato, Eunice became immediately involved with the local music organizations, and Minnesota State University activities. She was a member of the Mankato Symphony Guild, Mankato Music Club, President of the Minnesota State University Faculty Wives, and a member of the League of Women’s Voters.

In addition to her volunteer work with various clubs and charities, Eunice served on the Council of Christ the King Lutheran Church, and worked at Harpies Bazaar as well as the University Book Store.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Jane (Bruce) Arduser of Egg Harbor, WI., two sons, William (Cynthia) of Shorewood, MN, and James (Pam) of Cottage Grove, MN; three sisters; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
