Margaret Rose Hiller, age 85, of Good Thunder, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Good Thunder, with Fr. Jason Kern and Fr. Tim Biren co-officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to mass at church on Saturday. Northview - North Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery Care Fund or the Good Thunder Fire Department.
Margaret was born November 13, 1931, in Mankato. She was the daughter of Myles and Rose (Lorentz) FitzSimmons. Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Good Thunder High School. She also attended Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Conley Hiller on January 31, 1953, in Good Thunder. Margaret was the matriarch and homemaker for her family. She was employed with Production Credit Association in Mankato. Margaret was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Good Thunder, the Ladies CCW, and volunteered with the Blood Mobile. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, walleye fishing, baking, gardening, hunting asparagus, and birdwatching.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Conley Hiller of Good Thunder; three children, Lee (Linda) Hiller of Good Thunder, Connie Peters of Mapleton, and Jay (Polly) Hiller of Mapleton; eight grandchildren, Jesse (Molly) Hiller, Jeffrey Hiller, Tara (James) Salge, Leslie (Eric) Barr, Mitchell (fiancée, Stacey) Peters, Megan (Derek) Zenk, Cami (special friend, Jason) Place, and Kati (Jace) Rossow; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jane Wandersee of Mankato; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) FitzSimmons and Mike (Rose) FitzSimmons.
