Ronald W. Baker, 56, of Mankato, MN passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

Visitation will be Monday, January 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Mankato Mortuary. Burial service will be Thursday, January 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. All are welcome to attend.

Ron was a friend, father, and committed community member who was driven to make a difference in the world. Ron dedicated the better part of his life to helping those who didn’t always have the capacity to help themselves. He worked in homeless shelters, for vulnerable-adult foster programs, and for the Committee Against Domestic Abuse. His compassion changed countless lives. His absence pains many more.

Ron grew up in Rock Island, IL, raised his family in Dubuque, IA and later moved to Mankato, MN.

Ron is proceeded in death by his parents, Red and LaVonne Baker, and his older sister, Lynne. He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Emily Baker of Peosta and Dubuque, IA, and his, dog Hoss.
