Florence K. Baarts

Florence K. Baarts, age 96, of Vernon Center, died Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Vernon Center, MN. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 12 at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.

Florence K. Baarts was born April 21, 1920 in Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County, MN. She married Harold Baarts on June 30, 1940 at Immauel Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, MN.

Florence was a homemaker and worked at Austin’s Grocery, Swanie’s Café, CJ’s Café and Vernon Center School. She enjoyed her family, helping others and working outdoors.

She is survived by her son, H. Calvin (Sue) Baarts of Vernon Center; grandsons, Eric of Mankato and Adam Baarts of Vernon Center, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Baarts in 2003; daughter-in-law Chrys Baarts in 2002; and grandson, Scott Daniel Baarts.
