Harold Kroubetz, age 90, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Crystal Seasons in Lake Crystal.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker in Mankato. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Lake Crystal. Visitation from 4 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Lake Crystal American Legion Post #294.

 

Harold Kroubetz was born January 8, 1926 to Joseph and Stella (Stroner) Kroubetz in Mahnomen, Minnesota. He graduated from Olivia High School in 1944. Harry served his country in the US Army during World War II as a SGT in the Pacific Theater. He was proud to participate in the Honor’s Flight to Washington D.C. to the National World War II Memorial.

 

Harry was united in marriage to Helen Bublitz on November 11, 1947 in a double wedding ceremony with Helen’s sister and Harry’s best friend in Bird Island, Minnesota. Harry worked for over 30 years at Northern State Power.

 

Harry was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Lake Crystal American Legion post # 294. Harry was very active with the American Legion bingo. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards, playing concertina, and most of all spending time with his family.

 

Harry is survived by his son, Paul (Kimberly) Kroubetz of Lake Crystal; three grandchildren, Shannon (John) Jimenez of London, England, Kimberly (Mark) Johnson of Madelia, and Ashley Kroubetz of Mankato; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, and Samuel Jimenez, Amber Kaelyn, and Maxwell Johnson; nieces and nephews.

 

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen in 2006; three brothers, Elmer, Les, Ivan; infant sister.
