Eileen Rose Brunz, age 100, of Blue Earth and formerly of Amboy, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Vernon Center, with Rev. Jason Kern officiating.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Olson – Tichenor Funeral Home in Mapleton, and continues one hour prior to the mass at church.  Interment will be held at Sterling Cemetery later next spring.

Eileen was born March 16, 1916, in Brook Park to Elmer W. and Margret E. (Cooney) Miller.  She was married to R.C. Glass from 1939 until 1968, and Janet and Jerome are their children.  Eileen worked in a defense plant during WWII building airplanes as a “Rosie the Riveter” and later as a dental assistant, the job she liked best.  She retired from Honeywell, again defense work, in 1973.

After returning to Minnesota, Eileen reacquainted herself with the Brunz family of Sterling Center and after a time married Leonard Brunz and settled on the farm.  Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, bingo, painting and all the other small pleasures that a happy person can find in life.  She was a loving mother to her two children and a loving mother-like lady to many others.

Eileen is survived by her two children, Jerome Glass of Blue Earth and Janet (Willis) Wolfswinkel of Amboy; two grandchildren, Jerome Glass II and Jerry Dent; 3 great-grandchildren, Jerome Glass III, Jerry Thomas Dent, and Kyle Dent; one great-great-grandchild, Jerome Glass IV; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eileen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Brunz; an older brother, Alvin; an older sister, Stella and three younger sisters, Gladys, Pearl, and Harriet.
