Howard Owen Wickler, a resident of Laurels Edge Assisted Living, Mankato, passed away on Thursday morning, November 24, 2016.

Howard’s memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Dr., Mankato, at 10:00 A.M.

Howard was born on July 3, 1922, in Lakefield, Minnesota.  He graduated from Fairmont, MN, High School and served in the navy during World War II. He graduated from Mankato State University with a teaching degree and completed his graduate degree at the University of Minnesota.  He spent many years teaching on the mission field.

He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Dorothy Lora Smith Wickler, five children, their spouses, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a younger sister, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Howard Wickler’s honor may be given to Wycliffe Bible Translators to facilitate Bible translation world-wide, or to Heifer International to help third world families become economically independent.
