Mary Susan Sutch

Mary Susan (Olson) Sutch, 66, of Mankato, passed away on November 22, 2016 after a courageous eight year battle against breast cancer.

Visitation will be held at Mankato Mortuary on December 2, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm. and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato on December 3, 2016 at 11:00 am. Lunch will immediately follow.

Mary was born on September 17, 1950 in International Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from Falls High School in 1968 and attended Rainy River Community College where she met Robert “Bob” Sutch one afternoon as she skipped a class. After earning an Associate of Arts Degree, she and Bob were married on September 5, 1970. They relocated to Mankato where they raised their family. She worked at Matt J. Graif Clothing for 36 years as a sales clerk, ensuring every sport coat, suit, and tuxedo sold fit the customer properly.

Mary always put her family first, attending countless sporting meets and games, Scouting events, band concerts and church programs. She beamed with pride for her three children and ten grandchildren. Mary was an excellent cook and loved a good bargain. She always had a coupon and never bought anything that wasn’t on sale or clearance.

She enjoyed spending time with friends, taking pictures, traveling, dancing and riding her bicycle. She loved Hallmark movies and finding meaning in seemingly random things.

Mary is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Jennifer, and family, Aaron Engelsrud, Alex, David, Peter and Katie; her son, Dan, and family, Kim, Arabella and Amelia; her son, Ryan, and family Heather, Nevaeh, Araya, Samiah and Navion; and her brother, Bob. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlene and Robert “Ole” Olson and her sister, Karen. She is very loved by many and will be greatly missed.
