Carolyn A. Frisbie

Carolyn A. Frisbie, 78, died November 12, 2016 surrounded by family at home in North Mankato after a courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., in North Mankato with the Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.

Carolyn A. “Strandy” Frisbie was born the youngest of nine children on October 25, 1938 to Louise and Samuel Strandmo in Glenwood, MN. She married Donald Beadell in 1956. They had four children and later divorced. She married Richard Frisbie in 1976.

Carolyn worked for Fingerhut Corp., Paper Box, Jack and Jill, Carlson Craft, and lastly as Registrar for the Boy Scouts of America retiring in 1993.

Carolyn enjoyed her time in the kitchen and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed making something for anyone. Her family especially enjoyed gathering for some of her potato dumplings with all the trimmings. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Holdem. She also enjoyed spending 15 winters in Mesa, AZ.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Frisbie; children, Timothy (Pam) Beadell of Bismark, ND and Rebecca Beadell, of North Mankato; sister, Bernice Hendrickson of Roseville, MN; brother-in-laws, Roger (Bonnie) Frisbie of Worthington, MN and Galen Frisbie of Blue Earth, MN; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Ihmels, Ashley Beadell, Brady and Grace Palmquist; and great-grandchildren, Beckett and Gage Ihmels.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Scott and Kent Beadell; five sisters; and two brothers.
