Kenneth William Henry Oslund, age 89, of Mankato, passed away on November 11, 2016 at Ecumen Pathstone Living. 

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross or Ecumen Pathstone Living.

Ken was born to Ralph H. Oslund and Hattie A. (Forbrook) on March 18, 1927 in Nicollet, MN.  He attended Nicollet Public School.  After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 7, 1945.  He served overseas as a Private First Class until his honorable discharge on February 16, 1947.

Ken was united in marriage to Sharon (Ward) on November 27, 1971.  They had three children together and later divorced.  He was employed as a Finance Director for the City of Mankato.  He was a member of Crossview Covenant Church and AMS (Administrative Management Society).  He also volunteered for the American Red Cross. Ken enjoyed fishing, tending to his rose garden, playing bingo, model trains, going out to eat, watching baseball, and listening to church hymns and his bible on CD. He was out-going, hard-working, and always faithful. Ken will be remembered for his constant positivity, compassion, and selfless service to others. 

He is survived by his three children, Lisa (Josh) Rucker, Lori (Ben) Port, and Jason (Pam) Oslund; and grandchildren, Jacob and Christopher Rucker, and Sydney, Grace, Mariah, and Calista Port.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
