Michael John Allen

Michael John Allen, 65, of Mankato, died at his home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 with his wife and children by his side.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Dr. in Mankato with visitation starting at 11am. Please share a memory of Michael with his family at www.mankatomortuary.com. The family prefers memorials be given to Mayo Hospice.

Michael was born May 5, 1951 in Marshall, MN to Richard and Eleanor (Deno) Allen and graduated from Loyola High School in 1969. On June 19, 1971, he was united in marriage to Pauline Murphy, and they were blessed with three children. For 38 years, Michael owned and operated Allen’s Painting and Decorating. He was described as funny, kind, compassionate, fun, multitalented, and generous. Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pauline Allen of Mankato; children, Jeremy (Troy) of Dodge Center, Annette (Cory) Boeck of Mankato, and Kevin (Amy) of Burnsville; grandchildren, Axel and Trystin Allen-Ziegler, Olin and Greta Boeck, and Eli and Leo Allen; siblings, Dave (Patricia), Mary (Carlos) Acosta, Joe (Soncha), Patrick, Kevin (Dolores), Eileen (Dann) Reichel, Coleen, Tom (Brenda), Tim (Patty), Annette (John) Ardolf, and Kate (Lenny) Hiniker; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Eleanor Allen; brother, Dick Allen; and sister, Maureen Smith.
