Apryl Mae Radel

Every so often, God calls a young person to Heaven leaving us wonder if the other side needed her contagious laugh and funny stories to mix it up a bit. The world lost one of the most kind, generous, loving and witty souls on November 8. Apryl Mae Radel, 41, of Cleveland, MN was surrounded by the love of her family at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato after a long health struggle.

Apryl was born in 1975 to Anne and Lonnie Frank of Eagle Lake, MN and graduated from St. Clair in 1994 and got her B.A. at the University of Minnesota in Mankato. In 1997, she met her best friend, Steven Radel, and married shortly after. She often referred to it as “hitting the jackpot by marrying him”. Together, Steven and Apryl enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, birds, bonfires, country music concerts, cooking and most of all spending time at the lake. As an employee of the MN DNR, she loved visiting State Parks and exploring the beauty this world has to offer. She also loved spending time with her 14 nieces and nephews, knitting, reading, and snuggling with her two cats.

Apryl’s spirit is carried on by her loving husband, Steven Radel; parents, Lonnie and Anne Frank; sister, Rachel (John) Beyer; brother, Ryan (Abbie) Frank; 14 nieces and nephews; many brothers and sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; cousins; and multiple friends.

Apryl is joined in Heaven with her grandparents, Catherine and Joseph Stegmaier and Mae and Delmar Frank; uncle, Frank Stegmaier; and aunt, Darla Foley.

Per Apryl’s wishes, a celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 12 from 11am-2pm at Northview North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56003.
